Apple Music reveals an overall album length just north of 38 minutes with the longest individual track weighing in at 11:11.

Personally, I still have a hunch that this is more of a single piece cut into multiple tracks given the similar motifs heard on Spacesuit and Morrisist. Guess we will have to see.

Additional personal note, I still hate the sonic fidelity of the guitar tone and overall mix of the two singles.

in another universe, Bud could have brought Fender to a new level. instead we got a CEO that has declared war on the entire guitar industry and thinks that AI music is on par with hard working cover bands. Bud has gots to go.

Either complete bullshit or not all was well between the members of Sleep… An official statement really needs to come from someone to simmer everything down.

“Have Spacesuit Will Track” sounds bland at its best and very uninspired at its worst. Very disappointing from a band that‘s has put out nothing but stellar output its entire career. 4 minutes and 20 seconds of droning riff, a synth lead after the chorus. Al’s space opera lyrics and a solo tagged to the end.

I will caveat this by saying that the track is listed a 4:20 flexi single and the preorder eludes to this being the first single. This could be an excerpt from a much longer track. Sleep does have a history of doing this with track with even Dopesmoker being include on the soundtrack for the film Broken Flowers in a 3:57 abridge version. Maybe this single is just an excerpt of a long form song that doesn’t do the full track justice.

Just my two cents. Roeder being fired from Sleep was an injustice but I could live with a Sleep line up with a new drum. Hakius had left the band after all and things were fine. But Sleep without Pike? That’s like Sabbath without Iommi. Motörhead without Lemmy. Metallica without Hetfield. It’s a hard pass for me.

Idk. Trying to give Cisneros the benefit of the doubt here. Even Pike has said that Sleep is his baby in interviews. But a Sleep without Pike is a hard pill to swallow for me.

Interestingly enough, Third Man Record has this listed as an Al Cisneros release.

Third Man Records briefly posted a link to preorder a signed comic and flexi disc for a single titled “Have Spacesuit Will Travel”. The link is now dead but… maybe new Sleep music.

edit. allegedly people in Australia are listening to a new Sleep track. I can’t confirm. will update.

edit. Track appears to be legit. With Australian users confirming the legitimacy of the track and preorder to a physical copy of flexi.

Figured I’d give #GetTheReloadOut a try. I fully expected that I wouldn’t win for the week however I did not expect to get an honorable mention. 😂 Giving me motivation to try another song. Probably Fixxxer.
