I love watermelons, but I keep wasting money on bad ones
Watermelons are my favorite fruit by far, and one of my favorite foods period. I love watermelon for breakfast. I keep buying different watermelons trying to get an ideal one. Lately, they can be quite pricey here in the U.S., but I've learned that a pricey watermelon doesn't mean it's good!
My biggest issue is that they'll be overripe or a bit mealy (I think that's the word).
I even bought two recent mini watermelons that had a bit of a rotten smell, even though they didn't look rotten (it was buy-one-get-one-free, which should have served as a warning).
I've been buying both mini and regular, seedless and regular. I don't mind if I have to pay 9 bucks - I just want to be sure I'm buying a good one!
