I’m so fucking dumb I just killed 4 rainbowfish
I just need to vent man
got 8 rainbowfish today. Expensive little guys, really. 2 different species.
So I decided after floating them I’ll transport them in a little plastic tub, mainly cuz I wanted to take a closer look at them, and there’s the whole thing about fish store water.
I didn’t expect them to start jumping out. Fish jumping had never been a real problem for me, even with prolific jumpers like African butterflyfish. My tank is outside, and the floor is made up of floorboards with some space in between 4 of them jumped into the spaces between the boards. I tried getting them out, but I probably panicked and scared them more. 4 made it in. The rest fell out and definitely died. I was actually shaking.
I’m heartbroken. I failed these little guys and threw money down the drain because of something so preventable.
