Warning: Do not mention everythingmoe on r/animepiracy
Just got permabanned from r/animepiracy with 0 warning. When pressed, I was accused of "astroturfing".
Lots of anime sites are going down, so I have been recommending everythingmoe, a website that ranks anime sites so you don't have to sit there and guess what sites to use next (as a lot of people have been worrying about what sites to use next as the ones they use have been taken down). I've mentioned it here multiple times with people thanking me. I just wanna help people get to their new sites. I'm not a part of everythingmoe, I'm not "sponsored" by them, it's just a redditor running a helpful site, and I find it super useful for people who just want to easily find the next best site.
The best part is r/animepiracy constantly recommends The Index and a Discord server to "help" people with finding new sites. I've got no problem with them recommending this, but is it not, by their own definition, "astroturfing"?
Just wanted to warn peeps in the future about this BS modding happening in r/animepiracy. They will accuse you of shit you have not done.
Edit: Upon looking into The Index a bit, I've noticed that there are specific sites it recommends above all others, some of which are for VPNs. All of the links to the VPNs are referral links. So there is a monetary gain by The Index, and thus would make the r/animepiracy mods the ones genuinely astroturfing. How ironic. This makes a lot more sense now.
