I think this is the year I start. Have accumulated about 8k in equipment. Have talked to guys at my work that do it on a larger scale and have been “consulted”

I have about 5 days a week to throw at it, I am looking for realistic goals as far as customer # and ideal revenue # to aim for as a 1 person truck&trailer.

Located in Macomb county, aiming to service Macomb, Oakland and St Clair county

As the title says, my interest in the career is awfully high. In 15 months I will be vested with my department. After 9 years, I am burnt out and ready for something new. Something that will provide for my family the way it should. For context, my employer offers the lowest pension multiplier in the state for a larger department, no retirement healthcare and we’re 32% behind cost of living. I’m used to 16+ runs a day, being up 32+ hours at a time and for years I loved working 196 hours of OT every biweekly pay.

Has anyone made the switch? What’s the first thing I need to do?

I have worked side by side with DTE for years which has always made me wonder but usually the guys that want to talk about it are subcontracted in a private truck during storms and leave out the fine details.
