Struggling with Davis-Bacon projects & Certified Payrolls
The company I work for occasionally gets to work on Davis-Bacon related state projects. I am struggling with connecting the dots. Everything else in payroll has been pretty standard, but this is something I’m really struggling with. I don’t know when to worry about certified payrolls (as in when to process them or how to process them), I know WHEN to submit them, but in the five years I’ve worked here in my current role, I, myself have not submitted them or put them together. With my co-workers being out, and not having documentation, or direction, I can’t figure out what I’m supposed to be doing since they typically take care of that side of things. I am now being asked about them for a specific project and I don’t have an answer. Can anyone offer any breakdown or advice in regards to calculation and how to process a certified payroll? I’m really trying my hardest to understand Davis-bacon but its really not making any sense to me. Anything helps…
