Questions about hazard lights / running lights on a 1991 Sportster before I buy

I’m about to buy a 1991 Harley Sportster (XLH883, chain drive, all original) and want to understand the electrical switch functions before I commit.

From videos I’ve seen of this specific bike being ridden, I noticed three different states for the turn signals:

**1.**	Both front and rear signals **blinking together** (looked like hazard flashers)
**2.**	Both front and rear signals **on constantly, steady, not blinking** (like running/position lights)
**3.**	Both **completely off**

A few questions for anyone familiar with early 90s Sportsters:

**1.**	Does the 1991 model have a factory hazard light function (both signals flashing simultaneously)?
**2.**	Is there a way to keep both turn signals on constantly as steady running lights, separate from actual turn signaling or hazards?
**3.**	Can they be switched off entirely?
**4.**	Is this all stock 1991 wiring/switchgear behavior, or does having all three states (hazard blink / steady on / off) suggest aftermarket signals or modified wiring were added?

Should I Keep My Rare Helix 25 or Switch to an Old Harley? 😂

Hi everyone,

I’m currently riding a 1994 Honda Helix 25 Special Edition — the limited model with only 1,000 units produced worldwide. The mileage is around 40,000 km.

For someone living in Seoul, Korea, it’s honestly the perfect scooter. It’s light, easy to handle, practical for carrying things, and in Seoul’s heavy city traffic, it’s probably one of the best commuting machines.

But lately, I can’t stop thinking about old Harley-Davidson models… especially pre-2003 Sportsters, both 883 and 1200, or models like the FXR / FXE.

Of course, with the used bike prices here in Korea, even if I sell my Helix, I would still need to add quite a bit of extra money — probably a few thousand dollars more.

For those of you who have owned or ridden both a Helix and old Harleys, please convince me what I should do

Can I do a long-distance trip on a 1994 Honda Fusion 250 / Helix?

Hi everyone,

I have a 1994 Honda Fusion 250, which is basically the Honda Helix / CN250.

I live in Korea and I’m considering a trip from Seoul to Mokpo. Motorcycles are not allowed on expressways here, so I’d have to take national and local roads. The total distance would likely be around 350–400 km, with a mix of city traffic, rural roads, hills, and long 60–80 km/h sections.

The bike is old but currently used as a daily commuter. Do you think this trip is realistic on a 1994 Helix/Fusion if I ride calmly and take breaks?

Before the trip, what preventive maintenance would you recommend? I’m planning to check oil, coolant, final drive oil, belt/CVT, tires, brakes, battery/charging system, spark plug, air filter, fuel lines, and carb/idle condition.

Are there any Helix-specific weak points I should inspect before a long ride?

Also, what cruising speed do you think is comfortable and safe for this bike on long-distance roads?

Thanks in advance.
