Portal Encounter Terrain I Built Paired With Animated Map For DnD
Thought you might enjoy this portal encounter I ran tonight for my DnD party of 2+ years! All the terrain is your classic XPS foam cut and shaped with hot wire tools, textured with rolled up tin foil on the tops and hot wire tools on the sides, and then sealed with the age old BMC mod podge and paint. A quick grey drybrush over the texture, and bam, we have easy rock!
Also pictured are some nice BMC pillars I made, and some first attempts at wooden bridges made from coffee stirrers. Overall definitely some lessons learned, but very happy with how the terrain all came together for this finale fight! The combination of verticality, danger below, a mixture of flying and climbing for movement, and the effect that the animated swirling maelstrom had, all came together for what was hopefully a memorable session!
(Also, the blue effect from the TV made for some great action shots of the rogue and the druid facing down a juvenile kraken!)
