Hi everyone,

I’m honestly confused and pretty frustrated.

I’ve been on Mercor for a while. Completed 4 contracts, have 1 still active, and recently got selected for a higher-level project based on performance and this was my golden pass for a somehwat stable project.

I accepted the offer. It went into review unusually (never happens).

My lead actually cancelled it to re-issue it (internal thing), but then couldn’t re-issue it at all.

Reason I was told internally:
My IDV sessions are from my country, which is now apparently restricted (project allows remote, from anywhere - so project isn't geo-restricted).

Here’s what doesn’t make any sense to me:

  • I still have an active contract right now
  • I accepted another contract literally 1 day before this --> went through fine
  • I’ve seen people from my country still getting onboarded - even asked them.
  • Support (melvin) told me my account is NOT globally blocked and I’m still visible - which is not making sense??

So how does this work?

How can:

  • I be allowed to work
  • Have active contracts
  • Pass all checks

…but suddenly I can’t take this one offer because of “location” or for whatever reason?

I've not violated any ToS, I've worked on a single machine, literally every single thing is the same for as long as I've signed up.

I’m not even sure where I stand now:

  • Am I still eligible for future contracts?
  • Is this just project-specific?
  • Or am I silently restricted?

I’ve put a lot of work into Mercor and built a name here, so this feels like a slap honestly -especially when nothing changed on my end.

If anyone has seen something like this or understands how Mercor handles this, I’d really appreciate some clarity. There is NO email communication, all login, platform-speicifc stuff works as-is. So what actually is going on?

Can someone ACTUALLY tell me what's going on? This would leave me losing a lot of trust along with many others, if experts can just randomly be "blocked out" for a reason that's not just not properly being communicated (if at all), and is also in clear contradiction to available policy on their website.

To add: I am NOT from any country listed here https://talent.docs.mercor.com/support/bugs#unable-to-load-form-%2F-network-connection-lost and am from countires listed here; https://talent.docs.mercor.com/policies/supported-countries - Not just that I've recevied payments just fine.

tl;dr: Told country is "restricted" out of nowhere, job is NOT geo-restricted, BG-check already passed from Zinc/Certn. IDV was passed literally 4 days ago. All things pass and I possess an active contract but somehow denied a "contract" and have NO idea if i can receive future opportunities or not. NO email and NO communication regarding any of this.

Hi - mostly the title. I have worked 5 contracts as a SWE expert working as writer, reviewer and SR. However, my most recent contract is stuck "in review". After going back and forth, I was told that my country (Pakistan) isn't on the supported list of countries.

To me, that doesn't make sense especially as I've had 5-6 prior contracts and have an active contract as well. My new contract being isolated seems very weird.

I'm extremely disappointed; I have worked tremendously hard to get that contract and to have it stuck due to my location when a number of writers/reviewers/SRs are working from the same location seems strange, contradictory and unfair.

Is there a way around this through or any support member that can shed some light?

PS: None of my roles are geo-locked. Melvin denies that reason and says my job posting is free-to-work from anywhere.
