Career advice for a non-cpa with no work experience
Hi po! I am a BSA grad with no work experience aside sa internship. I'm already 25 and ang ginawa ko lang for the past years ay magreview and magtake ng board exam which unfortunately the results did not go my way (failed 3 times). No matter how close my scores were, di pa rin nagiging condi. I always feel hopeless sa situation ko, but after feeling down bumabangon ako para maghanap ulit ng mga job opportunities. Every time nagtitingin ako, parang nafefeel ko na hindi ako qualifed. Syempre mostly CPA ang hanap or may work experience. Although may iba na open sa fresh grads with no experience, but nanliliit lang ako sa self ko at parang iniisip ko if kaya ko ba talaga yung role.
Kahapon I tried pumunta sa open house recruitment ng isang audit firm (big 4), Tax associate yung inapplyan kong role but nirerefer talaga nila yung non-cpas sa ibang line of work like advisory and consulting. I had a chance na ma interview ng line manager under Management Consulting services. To be honest di ako masyadong prepared, puro mga situational ang questions, usually mga experiences from my past so medyo during interview nag-iisip pa ako kung ano ang specific situation ang pwede kong e share. To cut the long story short, parang I did not do well kahit nakasagot ako kasi hindi straight yung answers ko plus nagtatagalog pa ako even though sinabi na ng manager na required sagutin in English or taglish.
Im also considering na magtake ulit ng board exam e so working reviewee talaga if ever. Hindi ba doable na mag big 4, especially wala masyadong experience sa work at magrereview rin at the same time?
