Advice RCSI vs Galway
I’m a first time applicant to medicine and got a total of 742 this year, but due to my LC subjects the only 5 year programmes available to me are UG and RCSI (I’ve done two years of science already including chemistry so from what I can gather I should be able to skip pre-med in either college regardless of my LC subjects).
I already have accommodation guaranteed in Galway at €800 p/m whereas I have nothing sorted for Dublin and I assume it would be significantly more expensive and more difficult to find. The only real advantage I can see from my research for RCSI, aside from being slightly more prestigious is that it may be somewhat better known abroad, although those opportunities would still absolutely be there from UG as well from what I can gather.
