Terrified of colonoscopy results.
please don’t scare me further.
I’m 34F. i have a colonoscopy next week. I’m so scared of the results. like I’ve convinced myself of the worst. I have inconsistent BMs but I also don’t have a gall bladder (since 2011). when I have a good BM it’s full round and a good color but I have mucus and on and off (not consistentl) since 2023 have bright red blood only went I wipe. I think it’s a hemorrhoid or fissure. I had a blood occult test a few weeks ago. where they swabbed my anus and it came back negative for blood and my CBC is normal. i had a physical rectal exam and dr found a small non inflamed hemorrhoid. I have no family his of CRC. today there was mucus in my poo not a ton but some and looked red/rust but my poo was rust sorta so it was hard to tell if the mucus had blood. up until this point any mucus I saw was tan and I’m trying not to spiral or freak out. I get cramping but only sometimes when I need to poo and when I poop the cramping goes away. the only times I have had 100% positive I know it was blood is on the toilet paper and it wasn’t either pink or bright red. except the first time in 2023 it was like an explosion of bright red blood but after that just small and on tissue. I’ve had itching or stinging pain so that’s why I said probably fissure or hemorrhoid. but I’ve read stories where someone has no symptoms and turns out they have CRC and it was a shock to them. I’m just so scared.
