so yesterday, the maintenance team at my apartment complex decided to without any formal notice, remove my basketball hoop, aggressively mangled the front face of it and cracked my backboard mind you, this is a $2000 "The Beast" by Spalding basketball hoop. I have it on video where my brother‘s wife had to come out and ask them. "Hey where are you guys taking that" and then they said "around the side over here" and she was like "you guys couldn’t give somebody a notice" and they were like well it’s in your lease and she was like OK but you don’t need to touch it. You can give us a notice to remove it and we can do that. They were like I don’t know what to tell you and then once she had went inside, you can hear him audibly say on the camera "fuck that she wants to run her mouth. We’re taking it to the back" then rides off with it strapped to a golf cart. Well, I got home, and in no time they showed up to take pictures of the grass area being kind of messed up from kids playing on the basketball hoop, thats when I confronted them about this issue and asked when they were going to put my hoop back and they said they will not be bringing it back. so me and him had back-and-forth about how we messed the grass up and I said OK that does not give you the r right to vandalize my property, especially without any type of written notice so without a document of authorization, what should my next moves be because I told them I’m going to the office to handle it per their own request, but I’m letting it sit for a few days because I was adamant that they are going to move my shit back and they refuse so I’m going to give them a couple days to return it and offer some type of compensation before I go up there and escalate this the way it should be.
