how to make neon shorts NOT neon

I bought these shorts on depop under the impression that they were a dark, muted green. instead they’re a pretty bright green. the camera probably doesn’t even show how light they are. any advice on how to get them darker? think a forest green or something in that family. I’m not versed at all in sewing or crafting or anything. I wanted to try out RIT dye but I’ve heard some conflicting opinions. any help is greatly appreciated this color is horrendous 🙏🙏🙏

aid doesn't fully show up on disbursements?

looking at my financial aid for next semester. I have about 1,000 in financial aid (in estimated TAP, FAFSA, and scholarship). however when I go under the "disbursements" category, it shows only the scholarship and none of the financial aid. I just want to make sure I'm getting ALL my aid. is anyone else experiencing this? I figured it may just be because the financial aid isnt finalized yet and wont show up until later but I'm not sure. any help would be great!

stem majors at cuny: how did you get involved in research as an undergrad?

im a bio major and I really want to get involved in research here at baruch (or even another cuny if it comes down to it). im a freshman so I'm not the most involved or knowledgeable, but I'd really appreciate any advice on how to get involved. I know one method is to just cold email professors about research projects they're leading, but I'm unsure how willing they'd be to welcome a rising sophomore into their lab considering I have LIMITED knowledge and experience. anything helps tysm reddit
