I've been playing piano for 7 months – Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement. Looking for feedback, especially on dynamics.

I've been playing piano for 7 months and I'm self-taught.

This is my attempt at the opening of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (1st Movement). There are one or two small mistakes in this recording, but I can usually play it correctly.

I'd really appreciate feedback on my technique, timing, and especially dynamics. I'm trying to improve the contrast between the softer and louder sections, so any advice would be very helpful.

Please ignore the fingering — I know it's not the standard fingering, but it's more comfortable for me.

Thanks for listening! 🎹

Tips for Moonlight sonata 1st mvmt

I’ve been playing piano for about 6 months and I’m currently learning Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata 1st movement.

Do you have any tips on how I can improve while learning this piece? Things like dynamics, touch, pedaling, fingering, rhythm, expression, or technique in general. I want to make it sound more emotional and smooth instead of just playing the notes.

Moonlight Sonata self-taught after 3 months – how does it sound?

I know it doesn’t sound perfect, and it’s only a small part of the piece, but what do you think about it? I’ve been teaching myself piano for about 6 months now. I’d really appreciate some feedback or tips, especially about dynamics, timing, and touch.

And i have the wrong Fingering i know 😅

How do I figure out how to press the keys in Moonlight Sonata 1st movement?

I’m learning Moonlight Sonata 1st movement and I’m not sure how the keys should be pressed/attacked. Like: how soft or deep should the notes be? how much weight should I use? should the melody stand out more? how do I find the right touch for this piece? I can play the notes, but I want to understand the musical side and improve my touch and dynamics. How do you usually figure this out when learning a classical piece?

Is it okay to learn piano without reading sheet music?

Hi everyone, I’ve been playing piano for about 6 months now. I mostly learn by ear, watching videos, and memorizing pieces, but I can’t really read sheet music yet. Is it still a valid way to learn piano, or am I limiting myself long term? I do want to learn piano properly, not just copy songs. I’d also like to improve things like: Touch / key attack Fingering Technique Dynamics / expression Overall musicianship Do you have any tips for someone in my position? Should I start learning sheet music now, or can I continue developing in other ways first?

How should I strike/play the notes in Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement?

I’m currently learning Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement and I’m unsure how I should attack the notes. Should they be played very softly and smoothly, almost like flowing together, or should some notes be a bit more emphasized? I’m especially wondering about the right hand melody hidden inside the arpeggios — should I bring those notes out more? How do you personally approach touch and dynamics in this piece? Any tips would help.

Is a piano piece still considered correct if I use different fingering than suggested?

Body: I can play the notes, rhythm, and dynamics correctly, but I sometimes use different fingers than the written fingering because it feels more comfortable and natural for my hand. Is that considered bad technique, or is it normal to adapt fingering if the result is still clean and controlled?

Hey,

I’m a PC FPS player (CoD / Apex mainly) and looking to upgrade my controller.

Currently using an Xbox Elite Series 2 but I’m honestly getting tired of it — especially the bumpers and overall input feel.

What I’m mainly looking for:

Low latency (polling rate matters a lot to me)

Clicky / mouse-style triggers (not mushy)

Good stick precision (Hall effect preferred)

Competitive performance > comfort

I’ve seen a lot of people talk about controllers like Flydigi Vader 4 Pro and GameSir G7 SE, but opinions seem kinda mixed.

For people actually grinding FPS on PC:

What are you using right now?

Is there a noticeable difference in latency vs standard controllers?

Are digital triggers actually worth it for shooters?

(Not interested in Razer btw)

Would appreciate real experiences, especially from comp players 🙏
