VPC MongoosT50-CM2 grip error link 100 possible causes
Edit: Virpil walked me through some troubleshooting and helped me spot the dsicontinuity. As this is a non-warranty case I am deeply grateful for the prompt and professional support I have recieved from Alexei. Ground was torn between the grip and the base. Note that link error 100 can signal a dead grip not just a bricked one. Even one slight torn can mean no connection if for example the ground is not put through.
Thanks Virpil!
I have recently acquired a VPC MongoosT50-CM2 grip. A lovely piece of equipment. This one has been equipped with a DIY third party extension: a 3D printed gooseneck and a group of cables soldered to the Virpil miniDIN connector.
The grip throws an error: "link 100", when connected to a CM3 base. Profile is selected rightly, firmware is updated, and axes (save the grips analogue brake lever) calibrated to no result, sadly. The miniDIN looks right and is neatly fitting in the socket of the base. I have opened the stick, and found no damage or loose connections within.
Can anyone help in possible ways to troubleshoot this? The error is a bit vague, signalling no connection, which seems odd, as extending a 5-pole cable and maybe cold soldering one pole should not mean 0 signal from the grip, right? My WarBRD stick works fine, I am using a powered USB hub. I have one vjoy device and a hidhider solution for another vjoy device (currently inactive).
Someone tampered with this stick, possibly bricked it, but Virpil stuff is so hard to come by these days, the seller let me try to find a solution before paying for the purchase or sending the grip back. I have already contacted virpil support, very helpful people.
Thanks everyone!
