I have a a Thinkpad L15 gen 1 (20u3001xus) that I'm trying to add a SSD to. The SSD I'm trying to use is a WD PC520 NVMe. So far I can't get the BIOS or the operating system detect it in the WWAN slot.

I have tried resetting the BIOS by disconnecting the CMOS battery and updating the BIOS. I know that SSD is ok as it works in the primary M.2 slot.

I found the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. I have the model that comes with the M.2 SSD. The manual shows the 2.5 drive model can take a short SSD in with appears to be the WWAN slot.

Does anyone have any Ideas? I'm hoping it's not whitelisted. What should I try next? My goal is to be able to dual boot Windows and Linux on separate drives. I would appreciate any help.
