For reference, I am in the UK. I’m currently deciding between going down the integrated or modular route to eventually get a fATPL with the goal of becoming a pilot at the airlines. Obviously, each route has its own pros and cons. However, is there a recruiting bias towards integrated cadets?
The reason I ask this is because there are now lots of tagged fully-funded and self-sponsored pathways (BA speedbird academy, Jet2flight path, Ryanair future flyer academy, easyJet FlightCrew Futures Programme etc.). My thinking is that airline recruiters will prioritise cadets who come out of these programmes over Modular students.
Also, even with self-sponsored integrated students not on one of these tagged programmes, there seems to be a general narrative that integrated students are more favoured than Modular students when it comes to getting that first airline role. Is this true or a myth?
If anyone in the industry can give their perspective on this, that would be really appreciated!
