The reason we don’t remember past lives? “Mercy”
So as I was meditating yesterday I let my mind wander and found myself musing about reincarnation, and why we don’t usually remember our former lives unaided. The answer I got back was “Mercy”, which makes a lot of sense. If you came from a planet or civilization where there was only love, peace, and understanding, how difficult it would be to be dropped on a place like planet Earth. Remembering would be unbearable, especially if this present life was filled with difficulty, sadness, and abuse. Not remembering the love of where you came from is a tender mercy.
