Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced worse sleep quality after coming off Zyprexa (called Zolafren in Poland; the active substance is olanzapine).

I tapered off the medication very slowly under my doctor’s supervision. When I finally stopped completely, my sleep got much worse. Typically, I sleep for about 4 hours (like clockwork), then I wake up for 1–2 hours, and after that I fall asleep again for another 1–2 hours.

I’ve had a few nights of continuous sleep lasting around 6 hours, but most nights follow this 4–2–2 pattern.

What’s strange is that I generally still feel okay, even after nights like that.

Currently, I’m taking Apra (aripiprazole) and Amisan (amisulpride). I don’t drink coffee, I don’t take naps during the day, I eat healthy, and I don’t drink alcohol.

I’ve been wondering whether it could be related to too much physical activity. I go to the gym, do cardio and HIIT interchangeably, walk 10–12k steps a day, practice yoga, and play footbag.

Interestingly, when I was tapering off Zyprexa back in 2023, my sleep was great. But then I went back on it, and a few months ago I stopped again.

Has anyone experienced something similar?
