Am I just not cut off for civil Engineering?
Hey guys, so I have been doing LD for about 2.5 years now. The company I work at kinda promote us to Assistant project manager or project engineer fairly quickly so I got promoted at some time like last October. For the past 3 monthly 1 on 1’s I had with my boss, he kept telling me that I had to improve on my critical thinking and be more resourceful meaning bothering other PM teams to figure out things. I personally struggled with that because that meant taking away from other people’s time. So what I would do when my boss gave me a task was that I would asked him a bunch of questions upfront so that I felt like I had everything I needed for a task but I guess he took that as me relying on him too much. To make a long story short, I have been told that I am being fired and they are giving me like a 3 weeks or so to find a new job. They didn’t even place me on a PIP or send me back to design which I could definitely do well. Does this mean I am not cut out to be a Civil Engineer guys ? I really lost my confidence because of this .
