Loving vs Hating Teaching
considering being a high school teacher and how is it that half of teachers love the job and the other half say don't become one, its the worst job ever? What is the nuetral truth?

Long story short, I thought about becoming a teacher in my late twenties, shadowed a classroom but didn't quit like it, fast forward I work in the corporate world and thinking I'd be happier as a teacher. Is it all that it's cracked out to be or am I not missing out on much? Might go back and get a credential...
career long teacher here been thinking about leaving the profession for a while, but I'm not sure I'll find the same work life balance and comfort elsewhere that teaching provides. For those who have worked private sector, am I fool for wanting to leave or do we have it better here?
Hi! I'm considering making the change in grade to high school. From the outside it looks like an comfortable easy gig with summers off, and good hours, but what is the reality for those that teach high school science?
was reading half of teachers quit within 5 years. Is it really that bad? Seems like a pretty chill job.
I feel guilty sometimes because I don't actively teach but have it down to a system where I speak in front of the class and babysit the students essentially giving them busy work and movie time. I know people are working hard and my job and hours are relatively easy. I'm sure other tax funded professions feel like this but are there others here who feel same?
Is teaching really that difficult? I read all the time of how difficult teaching is, burnout etc, but it's hard to imagine as public perception is that it is easy. I'd appreciate examples and specific reasons why it is difficult besides defensive comments.
