Tretinoin

Hello lovely ladies,

I am a doctor so I want to address this issue. Recently I have seen online people suggesting use of tretinoin left and right. While I know it’s a magical product and our country doesn’t have drug regulation everything is otc.

  1. Tretinoin is almost at the end of treatment line. So when you already use tretinoin instead of first line second line treatment. Your skin becomes tolerant to tretinoin and slowly it decreases it’s effect. First line treatment second line treatment might work for you and you didn’t need that tretinoin. So your choice of treatment narrows down.

  2. It's a vitamin-A derivative so NOT PREGNANCY SAFE. Even when you are breastfeeding and trying to conceive. It gives teratogenic side effects.(as in baby deformity). In this age and day where infertility is a huge issue trets give you reduced AMI means less follicle in ovary, less chance of pregnancy. While it’s reversible but it’s still under research how much time it takes to reverse means flushing it out of your body.

  3. Oral trets give you bad bad side effects effective immediately. Cause it dries down water level in your body. And topical ones also give side effects but It takes it’s time.

So, please before using and suggesting topical tretinoin reconsider that you might affect someone's health.
