Coming to Nainital on 1st July. Need some advice

I’m coming to Nainital on 1st July and had a few questions.
How’s the weather right now? Is it raining a lot these days?
I was thinking of renting a scooty to explore nearby places, but I don’t have a driving licence.
Any other tips for a first-timer are welcome
