I'm in £26,000 worth of debt and I don't know what to do anymore.
My husband is self-employed and works 6 days a week , I don't work as we can't afford childcare and have a child with additional needs who only goes to school for 2hrs a day .
Last year my husband had an operation that went wrong, he ended up losing the sight in one eye and it took 4 Months of recovery before he could go back to work. We tried to make a claim but it was in the small print of the operation that this could happen.
I was using credit cards and loans just to get by ( I know it was stupid). We don't own our own house , we rent.
My problem is my husband doesn't know how much debt I have and it's eating away at me because the repayments are now over £800 a month.
My partner gives me £1500 for all house hold bills and food shopping, he pays for rent, car/van insurance, fuel and all his business insurances.
We are a family of 6.
I've never delt with debt before as we have always been okay.
I just don't know what to do anymore I've got £160 to last until the 4th of June , I don't want to tell him as I'm so ashamed.
