Easiest joinery method for this bookshelf?
I am newer to woodworking and want to tackle a bookshelf similar to this design I found online. Any advice for which joinery methods to use? This will be for a friend's (soon to be) newborn baby, hence the shelves on the right (for easy display/selection from an eventual toddler.) I was considering using solid maple with mostly stop dados to secure the back and shelves into place. The final piece will not be painted, so I didn't want to use much (if any) hardware to secure wood together.
I've made a few boxes with mitered joints, a craftsman style plant stand with quite a few mortise and tenon joints, a shoe rack with dowels, slats, mortise and tenon joints, and quite a few smaller details. They've turned out okay to great. I have access to a full woodworking shop through a local woodworking club. Any tips?
