For background I’ve recently been contacted by a small business I applied to work at. I don’t want to get too into detail but they specializes in one type of bread. I interviewed last week and they advised me they’d get back to me the same week but I never got a message back so I interpreted that as not getting the job. A week went by and a manager messaged me Thursday mid day to come in on Friday 7 AM and the Saturday and Sunday following. This meant I didn’t even get a full days notice to move plans around. I’ve been in a slump due to not having a job for about a month so I decided I was not in a position to be picky. I went in the next day before opening and realized the person I’d been talking to was not in the store and I was immediately being trained by a different supervisor. My question is Is it sketchy that I’m bring trained for three days with out having been asked for my my i9 documents or payment details? I’m used to sitting down and setting up my details before being trained so I’m skeptical about what’s going on but they seem like a reputable place so it’s hard for me to believe they’d be doing something strange. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
