It’s interesting how despite having one of the most OP abilities in the franchise, Zero Cosmorise still switches to other forms depending on the situation

Generally the trend with these sorts of “All powers in one” forms in Tokusatsu is that they just completely outclass everything that came before it. However, Cosmorise is different in that despite the ability to summon any Ultraman he wants, it lacks some of the useful traits of his other forms.

Zero Beyond is an overall stat boost with a variety of techniques & finishers.

Wild Burst is specialised for close combat/pure martial arts battles.

Shining Zero likely has superior energy attacks & also time manipulation.

And Ultimate Zero would likely have superior defensive abilities, mid/long ranged attacks & the ability to travel to other dimensions.

All of his forms still have their respective niches & strengths to make up for what Zero Cosmorise lacks, which helps to maintain their significance/importance to Zero in my eyes.

It’s crazy that it’s only been 2 days, but the Zero Cosmorise Special already has as many views as Teo’s 1st Episode

That just goes to show Zero’s popularity I suppose. Makes sense why Bandai would choose him to get the Cosmorise Form.

Even though I did really enjoy the Cosmorise Special (It’s a guilty pleasure for me), I do kinda wish that the better written show was able to get a share of those views as well… Toku Fans just aren’t all that interested in smaller scale, slice of life stories I guess.

Lowkey, this might be my favourite thing about Zero Cosmorise

Finally, a Zero Form that actually lets him PHYSICALLY use the Zero Sluggers on his head. Every other form of Zero usually just has him either (1) Not touching them at all or (2) Only use energy projections of Sluggers. So seeing a Zero Power-Up properly wielding his Sluggers like in Base Form makes me unreasonably happy.

Let him use the Zero Twin Slugger too, Tsupro!

Another 20,000 Years worth of slander huh…

I don’t usually participate in slander/agenda memes, I think they’re often pretty repetitive… But after watching the Cosmorise Special, I just had to this time y’know?

Ultraman Arc resists Conceptual Erasure from The Pillar

So we already know just how powerful Ultraman Arc is. But I wanted to bring attention to an underrated feat of his that honestly doesn’t get talked about as much as I thought it would.

“The Pillar” is an ancient device once created to erase the fears and anxieties of humanity by erasing the memories of those fears and everything related to them. This isn’t simply Existence Erasure, as the very concept of the things it erases COMPLETELY cease to exist from both humanity’s memory and reality, such as the rain and umbrellas. And it’s even capable of completely erasing powerful beings like Kaiju and the organisations created to counter them.

However, as stated by The Man in the White Mask that operates The Pillar, the bond shared between Arc & Yuma is so powerful that even the Pillar can’t seem to erase them. It gets to the point that he has to personally confront Yuma & try to convince him to surrender his powers.

This does appear to work briefly, as Yuma & the rest of the main cast completely forget their memories of being in SKIP and the Kaiju. But the memory of Yuma’s childhood drawings on a fence that was once washed away by the rain eventually brings him back, allowing him to transform into Arc once more and destroy The Pillar.

The Man in The White Mask, now having fused with The Pillar, tries to erase Arc directly with its full power. We know that’s exactly what it tried to do as after The Pillar is destroyed, color returns not only to Arc’s body, but also the world around him that was affected by The Pillar’s powers, returning everything back to normal.

This effectively means that Arc was able to survive being CONCEPTUALLY ERASED by a device that could even erase the very concept of Kaijus (which should include some absolutely busted mfs like Bullton, Greeza, IF or Grimdo, possibly more if we include Aliens since they’re related to Kaijus and are also one of humanity’s fears) and even destroyed the device with his own power.

TLDR; Go watch Episode 22 of Ultraman Arc. Outside of all the powerscaling aspect, It’s genuinely an amazingly directed Episode and a highlight of New Gen Ultra Shows. It’s even getting re-aired soon for it’s 2nd Anniversary!

You truly aren’t safe no matter what side you’re on

You dislike/critique Eldreda’s design even a little? You get jumped by her devoted fans that insist that her design is peak and that she has aura.

You like/enjoy even just a couple aspects of Eldreda’s design or personality? Too bad, now you’re just some Hoyoverse bootlicker that will accept literally any bad design just because it’s made by Hoyoverse.

Like my god, can we NOT have a healthy discussion where we’re able to express our criticisms or enjoyment of a character in a civil manner without resorting to calling people names and insulting them 😭

Knowing that Aoi Iwasaki was introduced into the franchise through Revenge of Belial makes this specific sound from the Ultrise Eye incredibly wholesome

This is the sound the Ultrise Eye makes after scanning the QR Code on the back of the Teo Crystar, where Zero wishes Teo good luck and Teo responds with “Thank you, Zero!”

It’s not really much, but knowing that Revenge of Belial was Aoi Iwasaki’s entry point into the Ultraman Franchise makes it so heartwarming. That’s literally his childhood hero wishing him good luck!

Sorry I’m late to the party y’all, is this how you’re supposed to do it?

Lowkey, Zero Cosmorise has one of the most beatiful transformation sequences in the Ultraman Franchise

The initial mirror-like background during the beginning, the reference to the original Ultraman Opening as red completely overtakes the screen, the image of Man-Nii San’s chest markings briefly appearing behind Zero before turning into a constellation of stars goes so hard.

… Really hope they fix the audio issues with the Cosmorise Announcer voice though, that really hurt my ears lmao.

Something something Romantic Story Something

The whole bit with Hoyoverse Fans calling Remielle (ZZZ) & the Tsaritsa (Genshin) Elysia variants got me thinking about how Ultra Fans kinda got a similar thing going on with every new Ultra getting the “New Gen” label slapped on ever since Trigger.

(Can you tell I made this meme while staying up late at 3 AM & being unable to sleep?)

I noticed this yesterday and now I can’t stop thinking about it

In the thumbnail art of Hololive English Justice’s 2nd Anniversary Live, I noticed ERB was striking the iconic Ultraman Rise Pose (Well, the rest of Justice are doing it as well, but Liz’s pose in particular feels the most reminscent of it).

Obviously Hololive referencing Tokusatsu in general isn’t really anything new, I mean Korone’s 3D render is straight up just Kamen Rider Ichigo’s henshin pose. But it’s always fun to see-

Whether intentional or not, I like how Zero seems to have a fondness towards Pigmon

Zero’s always so tender & gentle with Pigmons. He’s always looking out for them, even before he proved himself capable of protecting others to Leo. I dunnno, I just think it’s really cute that the aura farming bad boy of the franchise is so caring towards Pigmon. Big ol’ softie ❤️

Nerissa apparently didn’t know what ERP was until the final Episode of EnReco Season 3

https://x.com/nerissa\_en/status/2060607537670713478?s=20

Y’know, the funniest thing about this to me is how Liz apparently knew what ERP meant and panicked when Gigi jokingly mentioned it, but not Nerissa.

Liz… You have something to share with the class? /j

Although I do wish they could’ve gone with a more fitting design for Zero, I do appreciate that Cosmorise didn’t take any inspiration from Toei’s Anniversary Final Forms

I mean design-wise specifically, the whole “using powers of Past Ultras across history” thing is very much inspired by Decade/Gokaiger/Zi-O.

Sometimes they manage to get some really solid/fun designs (Grand Zi-O and Legendary Legend come to mind), but most of time Toei just haphazardly slaps the past heroes on the new guy’s Final Form and just calls it a day. Decade Complete 21 is especially bad with how they basically make him a walking merchandise advert with all those cards attached to him.

Zero Cosmorise, while a bit bland, is at least pleasant & easy to look at.

The UltraRise Eye will have a voice announcer AND it will be voiced by Voyager

This makes it the first time since Decker that an Ultraman transformation device has had a voice announcer (Not counting the toy exclusive ones that aren’t actually in the show). And possibly also the first transformation device with a japanese band as the voice announcers (I can’t confirm, maybe they’ve done smth like this before and I’m not aware).
