Why did my video do so poorly even though people said they liked the idea and thumbnail?

I am looking for some feedback on my most recent video. The video has a few titles from Most Superheroes Would be Unemployed In Real Life, Ranking Heroes By Their Chances Of Getting A Real Job, and Which Heroes Could Get A Real Job? The video is a ranking video of 10 of the most famous superheroes on if they could get a real job.

I posted in r/YouTubeThumbnailHub about the thumbnail for that video and tons of people commented saying the thumbnail and video concept are great and they would click on the video. But the video is not actually performing well on youtube. HERE is the post. I would love some insight on why people think this is the case and what I can do to improve this video and future videos. I appreciate any help.

After graduating college a year ago, I went all in on trying to be a Youtuber. And honestly, I'm proud of what I've built but I have to be real with myself about where things stand.

I've been supporting myself with unemployment benefits while job hunting and grinding on the channel. The job search hasn't gone the way I hoped, and my unemployment runs out in about two and a half weeks. After that, I'll likely need to take whatever job I can find which realistically means a lot less time and energy for YouTube.

I wish I could just make videos for the love of it, but without consistent views and some form of income from the channel, I wouldn't be able to support myself. YouTube's volatility makes it really hard to plan around.

The nail in the coffin is that my most recent video performed way worse than I expected and I genuinely don't know why. I have been told from people who have no reason to sugarcoat it to me that the video was really good. Which makes it all the more frustrating. It feels like I’m regressing in terms of progress. I'm not sure if it's the algorithm, the topics, the thumbnails, or something else entirely as I've been working on this venture entirely alone.

Has anyone else been at this crossroads? How can I make the investment, of both time and money, into videos that I have no idea will perform? It feels like gambling and there's no way I can build a real business on gambling. I'd love any perspective from people who've been here. I appreciate you reading all of this.
