Front porch ideas
We are looking to build some type of porch on the front of our house (on a budget!). Our goal is to add some depth to the front of the house, a visual distraction to help with privacy through our 13' window, and potentially help with the intense afternoon sun we get (west facing window).
I had thought about doing a deck with a pergola, but I'm afraid it won't blend in very well in our neighbourhood. Seems like more of a back yard idea. It would however help quite a bit with the shade a privacy.
The other thought is to do a simple porch across the front of the house. It could span all the way across the house (~40'x8'), or it could simply go from the bump out by our front door across the large window (~24'x8'). This would be a much more simple build, it would add depth and visual distraction, but wouldn't help with the intense sun.
Any thoughts? Our interior renovations are MCM themed and we would like to stay close to that style. Cat tax included if you can spot her!
