HUGE NSV in My World!

Background: my mother was seriously morbidly obese for most of my life, and had many obesity-related health problems. She was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes before she turned 40. She had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc. She passed away 14 years ago at age 63 from a recurrent MRSA infection that was complicated by her obesity. I spent many, many years resting on my "laurels" that while I was overweight/obese, I was not nearly as obese as she had been and my blood sugar and A1C levels had always been totally fine. The older I've gotten, the less comfortable I am with that attitude. My doctor put me on a low dose of lisinopril a few years ago as my blood pressure started to creep up, and one of the motivators for me to finally ask about a GLP-1 earlier this year was the need to double my dose of lisinopril.

I do keep track of my blood pressure at home, and the nurse at work (I'm an office worker at a manufacturing company, and our factory has an on-site nurse) has been "officially" checking it for me once or twice a week. Two weeks ago my BP clocked in around 90/60, which is right on the border of being TOO low. So I called my doctor and we cut that lisinopril dose back down in half! One of my goals in this process is to hopefully be able to come off the BP meds completely, so this is HUGE for me.

I'm down 32 pounds so far. I feel better than I have in 15+ years. I'm healthier than I've been in 15+ years. I've lost inches, but not as many as I might expect with a 32-pound loss, but my doctor says not to worry as it's likely that I've lost a lot of visceral fat around my organs first (which doesn't impact measurements as much subcutaneous fat).

I love this sub so much; it has provided me with so much information, support, and inspiration. Y'all are the best!
