My sister (age 44) was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in August 21. She was given 2-3 years so she’s surpassed that, but the cancer has spread to her liver (6cm tumour and multiple rice grain size tumours). She’s had about 60 rounds of chemo and immunotherapy. It’s really taken its toll and she’s got awful nerve pain, scabs over her scalp, sores on her feet and hands. She’s so so tired and sick she’s thinking of stopping treatment. She was given 18 months max in February (if she continues).
If she chooses not to, what would her new prognosis be? Would she be likely to see Christmas? And (sorry to ask) what are we looking at.. loss of mobility, function, awareness? I’m trying to prepare us all.Has anyone been through similar?
