What is this fossil? I was given it earlier today and unfortunately I don’t know where it was originally found or how old it is.

My dad pointed out how there are holes on the side (pic 2) and said that it’s probably a fracture plane. I’m afraid I might damage the fossil in the process of trying to break it off.
