I'm pretty much decided on an Orro terra C using the UK Cyclescheme voucher. I have a choice between a 24 model with the GRX 620 groupset plus a bunch of restrap bags, or a 2025 GRX610 with the 1x12.
To complicate things, I have a pair of Mavic Allroad wheels that have the Shimano HG hub, so are not compatible with the 12 speed GRX cassettes. I bought these wheels a year ago for my Trek Checkpoint AL4 that I'm using as a winter bike / heavy tourer (think overnight camping etc). I l also have three HG 11 speed compatible wheelsets that I could put to road use on the 11spd Orro
I'd be using the Orro more for single day rides on mixed surfaces with the occasional hotel overnight trips (hence the need for a Restrap type saddle bag). I'm not a small chap, even at my racing weight I'm 85kg (currently at 95Kg) so the 42 vs 45 and potentially a 51T rear sprocket is unduly worrying me, but I guess i cold swap out the 40T front to a 38 if we went anywhere silly.
Lastly, thoughts about the Planet X tempest? Is it cheap because it's cheaply made (and dangerous - the fork failure episode)?
