A Brief Announcement Regarding What I've Accomplished
Big day for me. I'm sure some of you won't enjoy hearing this. The competition has been stiff, and I doff my cap to everyone, but the hard truth is, you've all lost. I don't say that to brag, or rub your face in my victory. It's just a simple statement of fact. As of this evening, I've finally done it, and I'm the first one to do it, and there will only ever be one first, and that will be me.
I've made literally every mistake a person can make when casting resin dice. That's right. You've heard it here first.
I started small, as most of us do. I stabbed an expensive master with an Xacto knife while cutting keys into a mold. I added too much alcohol ink and created rubbery abominations that never cured properly. I made armies of malformed little soldiers that almost looked like dice. But I hungered for something bigger, better. I needed to fail in more creative ways.
So I accidentally forgot mold release and created a giant silicone cylinder with all my new masters trapped inside. I over sanded. I dropped a can of mold release on the floor, snapped the nozzle off, and watched it skitter around the floor of my workspace. It wasn't enough. It was never enough.
I created bad mold housings that leaked silicone all over the interior of my pressure pot. I spilled resin on literally everything I own. I doused my Texas Chainsaw Massacre shirt with red alcohol ink which...actually that one was kind of cool. I don't regret that one. I ordered the wrong silicone. I tried really, really bad molds from amazon. IT. WAS. NEVER. ENOUGH.
So tonight, I went big. I was dirty pouring, as one does on a Monday night. Doin' it dir-tay. And as I finished my pour, I grabbed my lighter, touched the flame to the mold to eliminate any hidden bubbles, and I just straight up set my resin on fire. That's right! All that alcohol ink was right up there at the top and it burst straight into flames. I had to pull off my respirator to blow out the flames like the world's shittiest birthday cake, as I fervently wished for my house to not burn down. Lucky for me, it didn't. But I think it's safe to say I've written my name on the walls of eternity.
So again, sorry everyone. But I did it and I did it with style. I made every mistake.
TL;DR - I am the guy who made every mistake a person can make while casting resin dice. AMA.
