Hey all,
I’m looking to build a very low level (290mm) deck in my yard (UK).
I’m thinking of using 100mm concrete posts rather than wood, but I want to confirm a few things.
My plan is to dig holes 450mm deep x 300mm wide.
Is there any reason not to dig all the holes, use clean stone to get the actual frame level with the joists all attached to the posts - and then postcrete all the posts with the deck subframe in situ?
My thinking is it will be easier to get the posts plumb and level if the subframe is built.
Please do tell me if this is a stupid idea!
