So I might be on Kauai for work next spring. I am really big on visiting national parks, so I am wondering if folks could offer advice on the best way to get to either of those from Lihue. I would have to go after Kauai and would not need to go back. I have a lot of time to figure out details, I'm just trying to get a big picture idea right now of what the travel might look like (e.g., airports, areas people stay in, how people get around within the parks).

I have maybe 5 or 6 days to work with and I'm not sure if that's enough time to see both. I'd probably be looking at leaving Kauai on a Saturday and needing to fly back home maybe the following Friday or Saturday. I have a little flexibility, though. The parks are my priority, I'm fine if I don't do/see anything else this time.

Any advice is appreciated!

ETA: The two parks are a priority for me but I don't expect to spend my entire time there. I mostly just meant I don't care much about sitting on a beach all day or to stay in a resort, but I can see that wasn't clear. I really enjoy hiking, primarily. And I would also be in Kauai for 4-5 days before heading elsewhere on top of that. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions so far, though. This is giving me a really good start on figuring out what's plausible.
