Baby bird in my garage
This baby bird was lying on its side barely able to move and breathing very slowly in a cold apartment building garage. I brought it and put it in a box with a kitchen towel and it is doing much better.
The parents are not seen, but I know various birds are making the bad choice of nesting in the insulation in the ceiling of the garage every spring, which leads to a catastrophic number of dead baby birds in the garage.
Who do I call to rehab this bird? I am in Nassau County, Long Island. I can't really put the bird back near its nest since it will just get crushed by a car, which pretty much happens to a lot of the birds in this garage...
Also, should I feed it? It hasn't eaten since at least 4PM yesterday.
