Song trilogies are an underappreciated art form in music
To me there is something fascinating about artists who decide to tell a story across multiple songs, not just through the album as a whole.
To me a perfect example of this is Lorna Shore's Pain Remains I, II, III. It feels a bit like a musical version of a greek tragedy of sorts, just in three parts. The first part builds the sense of grief and dread, the second focuses more on the giving up and then the third shows the resulting anger, almost like a resolution.
I have also wondered, as someone who only listens to rock and metal, if such trilogies can also be as effective in other genres, because the majority of the trilogies which I know are in rock and metal (another example is Guns and Roses: Dont Cry, Estranged, November Rain (The order may be wrong)).
