Forgive me, I don't know anything about roofs and coming here for help. I've been lurking in this sub for some time and always appreciate the comments 😀

Bought this house a few years back and the roof looked okay back then. Admittedly, I haven't done a good job of keeping it clean as it's pretty hard for my old ass to scamper up there. We have three large pine trees directly adjacent to the house which drop boatloads of needles which is probably my main problem. I'm told these kinds of roofs should last a long time, but I think the trees being so close might be too much for it.

Today I managed to replace the three tiles that are missing on the right side of the photo. On the way to those three tiles, I broke four additional tiles and had to replace those as well. When I walk on the roof, I never know if a tile is going to be rock solid or if it's going to crack under foot.

I don't yet have a plan for how to replace the tile in the top left corner of the photo, so open to feedback on that. I didn't use any safety gear to replace the ones I replaced today but I feel like that high one warrants some actual thought 😆 I'll probably end up hiring someone, but if you had to do it yourself, how would you do it?

I'm also wondering if anybody has an idea on how old this roof is, and if they have strong thoughts on if I should replace it or keep it. I have a pallet of extra tiles, but I don't have any extra ridge pieces or corner pieces, so that could be problematic if one of those breaks. If you feel that I need to replace it, what would you replace it with and why?
