So, recently I've started working a commercial carpenter job, I am 20 years old, and I started fresh with almost no experience. I have about 6 months of residential experience and lately I've just been doubting if this is the route I want to go. It's non union, and the pay is pretty good. There are some aspects of it I love but I also feel overwhelmed, I feel as though I didn't learn enough before entering, and I understand I'm being taught but I'm just not sure how to feel. I wanted to try HVAC or maybe continue residential but I'm afraid that will be a downgrade and also look bad for me. I'm told that I'm in a great spot in life and I should continue down this route. I'm starting to realize I'm into more window work, installing flooring, drywalling and other such things like that. But I'm still afraid switching will look bad for me and I'm afraid of downgrading to something worse I've been told to follow the pay and this is the best I have currently. Just some advice on things would be helpful if anyone has ever felt the same way or has been in a similar position.
