29F Facial Flushing and at a loss
I (and my doctors it feels) are at a loss for what is causing my facial flushing. It happens (almost) every day, with no discernible trigger (we’ve tracked food, caffeine, environmental, sunlight), always between 10AM and 4PM, and is incredibly hot to the touch, almost painful burning but no itching, lasting between 1 hour to 2 hours. It started in November, as a one-off, then again in December as a one-off then slowly increased in frequency until today, where it’s been almost every day since the middle of February. All my bloodwork has been relatively normal, and no new medications during the period it started occurring. My daily medications are an allergy pill, Zoloft and Vyvanse.
I’ve seen an allergist/immunologist, my pcp, a rheumatologist, and two derms (the rheumatologist wanted me to get a second opinion.) Supposedly they ruled out MCAS, Allergies, Lupus, and both Derms said it didn’t seem to act like rosacea but were trying treatment for it just in case it responds. We’ve also tried anti-histamines and migraine medications, in case it responded to those but it did not.
I’m just exhausted and it’s tiring to have to explain it at work constantly.
