Brain zaps Fluoxitine withdrawal

Hi everyone,

I tapered off from fluoxitine and took my final dose about 40 days ago. I thought I tapered slowly enough but after reading a lot of people's comments I probably should have done it slower.

I was on 20mg for 5 years.

I have had trouble with aches and pains that appeared about 3-4 weeks after the final dose. They seem to be getting a little better but very slowly.

I have also had what I think must be brain zaps. It's a weird feeling that's hard to explain. It's like if I move my head a certain way then I lose focus slightly for a split second or it feels like a light buzz/vibration near the back of the head.

Has anyone had these and did they eventually go away? They were quite disturbing to start with.

I have had a lot of blood tests done to rule other health issues out and nothing was really found to be wrong.

Brain zaps only really seem to be related to anti depressant withdrawal so it has to be it.

Looking for advice after some recent blood tests.

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some opinions and advice if possible please. Especially to do with kidneys.

So I have recently had some bloods done because I was having some symptoms which I thought could be from supplements but it turned out to be fluoxitine withdrawal.

I am mostly healthy according to my bloods but I have a few concerns. Especially to do with kidneys.

My EGFR was 73 and my creatinine was 112 umol/L.

Is this something to worry about? I am 42M. The weather has been hot so dehydration could be a factor but I didn't feel dehydrated.

I will list some other biomarkers that were tested below.

Albumin - 51 g/L

Globulin - 28 g/L

CRP HS - 1.89 mg/L

Ferritin - 101 ug/L

B12 active - 38.6 pmol/L

Vitamin D - 76 nmol/L

I have taken some supplements over the last few months.

Berberine - took for a month and on a 2 week break.

Vitamin D3/K2 5700 ui - Took for 1 month. Stopped 2 weeks ago.

Panax ginseng - I take it for 2-3 weeks then take a break. Not taken for 2-3 weeks.

Resveratrol - I took this but I didn't feel like it did much. Not planning on taking again.

Magnesium - started a week or 2 ago.

Boron - started a week ago

Creatine - I bought some but haven't used it.

So my main question is can any of these supplements strain your kidneys? I thought they would more likely have a positive effect. Maybe I am reading and thinking too much into it. How much can hydration affect the numbers?

With my creatinine being quite high should I leave the creatine supplement?

Obviously my B12 doesn't seem great so I have bought a supplement to try and boost it.

I always try and buy supplements with no fillers etc or as little as possible.

Can anyone offer any advice or personal experience related to what I mentioned please?

Thanks in advance

How quick do location specific t shirts sell out please?

Hey everyone,

Can anyone from the Wales or Scotland shows tell me what time the location specific t-shirts sold out please? The ones at the stadium, not the pop up shop?

I am travelling to London on a coach both days but probably won't get there until 3-4pm.

I would love to be able to get one.

Thanks.

Struggling with bone/muscle pain after starting Vitamin D3/K2

Hi everyone,

I started taking vitamin D3 5,700 IU, K2 115mcg and 251mg of MSM just over 1 month ago and I had to stop after just over 2 weeks because I have developed bone and muscle pain. I can't say 100% yet that it is the cause but it's the only thing that really changed.

The reason I started Vitamin D was because at the end of last summer my level was only 53 nmol so it probably dips low into the winter. So I was trying to give myself a boost.

I stopped over 2 weeks ago and it is still not improving much. I have taken some magnesium the last few days to see if it helps and it seems to make it worse.

I have ordered a blood test for early next week for vit D and inflammation and some other stuff.

It just feels like my body is stiff and clicky joints and aches in fingers and toes but also arms and legs.

Has anyone had something really similar even after only taking it for a few weeks?

It's starting to worry me quite a bit that it won't get better.

Not sure if withdrawal symptoms after 3 weeks are prozac related.

Hi everyone,

So I just tapered off fluoxitine after probably 5+ years of taking it and I have been mostly ok apart from some anger problems. I was always on 20mg.

I took my last dose about 3 weeks ago and for the last 4-5 days I have started to have joint pains. Most notibly in fingers and toes. But my back and whole body feel stiff and I am much more tired.

Can this be a sign of withdrawal or do I need to look at other reasons? Has anyone else had something similar at all please around the 3 week stage?

I do get quite bad hayfever which could also be a factor but it seems strange.

Vitamin D is 53 nmol. Is it worth supplementing?

Hi everyone,

So my vitamin D level was 53 nmol last September. Which is at the end of summer in the uk and although it says it's in the acceptable range over 50, I thought it was a bit low for what it should be after the summer.

I wanted to ask if it's worth trying to boost it a little bit? Or is 80-100 nmol just going to feel the same?

I am interested in other people's results in a similar situation please?

Question about Zinc supplement amount.

Hi everyone,

I have just bought a zinc supplement from British supplements but after doing more reading I realised that the dose is quite high. The dose works out as 54mg of elemental zinc.

I was wondering if I should take it maybe every other day although that seems a bit weird.

The other option I was thinking of was to open the capsule and take some out maybe?

I have bought a lot of other supplements from here and they have been great. I like them because they are clean with no fillers or binders etc.

Has anyone done anything similar?
