Hello! I'm learning to play the piano this last month and would love some feedback on technique or other advice. I have never had any teacher, just self taught, so thought that it could be good to check that I don't make any major errors early on that could be difficult to fix later. Also based on the amount of time practicing (se below) is this a good level of a piece to practice or would it generally be better to try simpler/harder pieces?
I have not yet begun practicing intonation for this piece since I still mess up relatively often and intend to fix that first. I started with only practicing the first part of the aria and started on the second part of the piece once I was a bit more comfortable with the first, hence only the slower playing for the second part since I'm not as good at that.
Background: I have technically played a bit about ~10 years ago, but only learned about the first 20 seconds of some songs from watching synthesia videos and played the first couple of pieces from Alfred's Basic Adult All In One Course. I have taken an evening course in music theory during a semester a couple of years ago, so I'm a little bit more familiar with sheet music than an absolute beginner.
Time breakdown: In this month I've practiced for a total of 14 hours and 28 minutes in 26 days, with 8 hours and 40 min with Alfred's Basic Adult All In One Course book 1, 39 minutes with Béla Bartók's Mikrokosmos (first 6 pieces) and 5 hours and 45 min practicing J.C Bach Aria in A minor.
I had intended to have more even division of time spent on the course book and practicing the aria, but have had much to do so time mostly went to practicing the aria once I started to learn it. I have gone trough about 65% of the Alfred's book, although I did rush quite a bit and not learn the pieces to a high level, so I will probably go back and be a bit more thorough later before continuing with the next book in the series.
