Good News

Hello everyone. After waiting a whole week for my ultrasound results, I've just received them today. My doctor gave me the all clear! No lumps were concerning! I feel incredibly lucky, and I hope anyone currently experiencing a cancer scare is as lucky as I am. Fella's, don't be afraid to get that lump checked out. Odds are, it's nothing to worry about. And on the rare chance it is cancer, you have this entire community behind your back!

Waiting for Ultrasound Results

Hey guys, I got back from an ultrasound and now I am anxiously waiting for the results. I found a lump on my right testicle last Sunday and I was finally able to get it checked out a week later on Monday. My doctor said it felt soft and she told me that's a good sign. She ordered an ultrasound anyways just to be sure. Now I'm so anxious waiting for the results.

Is it irrational to dread the possibility of losing a testicle? I feel irrational for being afraid of that. What would people think? Would they see me as less? My dad always belittled anything I did that wasn't manly, calling my brothers and I p**sy and making crude remarks on the absence or presence of male genitalia. I told myself that didn't affect me, it shouldn't and I'm ok. But I still feel this anxiety. And it leads my mind to the worst scenarios: what if I lose both. What if the cancer is stage 3.

I figured I'd post in this sub. I believe we should be able to feel more comfortable discussing this disease without fear of being judged. I wish to help foster a world where that's possible: comfort and no fear.
