Am I on the right track?
I have an almost 6 month old Cavalier + mini golden retriever mix, I've had her since she was around 11 weeks old and she is my very first puppy. She is so sweet and absolutely perfect in every way (maybe a little stubborn) But she still pees and poops in the house.
She has good days where she doesn't have a single accident, this can last up to 3 days, but then suddenly she has one, then two then three in one day. Sometimes more.
I've tried positive reinforcement (giving her a treat when she does go outside) I did stop that because it didn't seem to be working.
I also tried enzyme cleaner, did not help.
The trouble is, I take her to her usual spots, and I stand there with her for 5-10mins and she doesn't poop, just plays with pinecones lol
Then she goes back into the house and poops on the floor in the rooms farthest from the front door (idk if that means somthing)
I try really hard to keep her on a schedule, her poops are around the same time every day for a few days and then it changes.
The peeing is not as bad, she's a little more predictable with that.
So what I'm wondering is: Am I doing ok? What can I do better? Is this just a normal part of puppyhood and she'll figure it out?
