I was planning to leave for masters in feb - but now ill be put on PIP- should i quit and leave or just try to be better for few months until i leave?
I joined a huge Asset management company right after graduating! And ive been working there for 3yrs now!
The work environment has been extremely stressful especially w AI — manual reporting, timezone issues-- they want to reduce the number of employees/headcount! And increase revenue/and use AI to the max
Over multiple performance reviews, I was repeatedly told to improve. Even after workload reduction and repeated feedback from my manager, I continued making operational mistakes like missing dates, row shifts, and rushed submissions (i was rushed to submit most the time). Over time, I also became disengaged and stopped caring enough about the role!!!
Now the management has lost confidence and trust in me- they reallocating all of my work!! To others in the team!!
The management wants someone else for my position.
They just said i can look to other jobs internally or externally!
And that i will be put on PIP!!
jn PIP-- they monitor for 4 weeks if u pass- youll be on probation for 8 months to 1yr(during which if i make any mistake, i would be immediately terminated).
And if i fail pip- they would terminate me!
I am planning to leave for masters in 8ms- for feb 2027- rn its may 2026
I dont want to start new job/learn/put effort- all of it just to leave eventually!
I want to just stay and try to improve myself with PIP- try not to get fired!! And ride it out for 8ms and then leave!!
Save money for masters and stay for 8ms
But i am not sure---- incase i fail PIP/ or pass and they decide to fire me anyways!
I dont want that to hurt my future jobs! Or my experience letter or whatever the documents you need when leaving a company!
Can HRs, senior executives who know about how it works- tell me what to do??
