Her gaze and crazy/intense expressions look incredible. I can't wait to see her in this role, it already looks like she is going to absolutely own it. Plus it seems she and Yan An are going to have some killer chemistry 🔥. Drama name is where the mask ends.

He was nominated for best actor for his role in Legend of Zang Hai. Just the nomination itself is really well deserved. His come a long way as an actor who has really dedicated himself to his craft. I'm so glad his hard work has been paying off. He is truly one of the most talented actors I've come across.

Nothing has been confirmed as yet but it's said that Lu Yuxiao is supposed to be the female lead however there's talk about billing issues and her name appearing first. Fandoms are also not happy with this pairing and do not want both actors to star together. Since the rumor dropped of them working together, there have been a lot of fights online, including recent ones.

Honestly, I do not care for these fights. If anything, I actually wouldn't mind this pairing. I would really love to see if they could work well together because both so far have made a good impression in costume dramas.

What do you think of this pairing, would you be excited to see them together?

1. Wang Xingyue — his screen presence and aura is amazing. He is so magnetic to watch, but I also think he has a lot of potential to grow into an even stronger actor. He just needs scripts that really challenge him and allow him to show more range.

2. Leo Wu — his work honestly speaks for itself. He can take on such a wide variety of roles, and his dedication to his characters is something I really admire. He is always pushing himself and challenging himself, and his film roles especially have shown how talented he really is.

3. Zhou Yiran — after watching him in roles like 12 Letters and Reborn, I’m convinced he has a lot of talent. He was incredible in 12 Letters, and seeing him in Generation to Generation also proved that he can hold his own in costume dramas. I wish he had more hype and popularity because this would open more doors for him.

4. Wang Anyu — I’m really glad to see him getting more opportunities because his a solid actor.

Leaving out actors like Liu Haoran, Wang Yibo, and Jackson Yee because I feel like they’ve already made their mark in the industry. Jackson Yee especially is an incredible actor. But feel free to add them.

Though I really don’t want any actors to be stuck only in Hengdian forever, some actors just look so incredible in costume dramas that you could honestly never get tired of seeing them in those roles. Styling definitely plays a big part, but I also think some actors naturally have visuals and presence that fit the historical/costume genre so well.

My personal favorites are Liu Xueyi, Wang Xingyue, Hou Minghao, Cheng Lei. Outliers are Xiao Zhan and Wu Lei because they barely do costume roles anymore, but they have such a strong presence, and they look so handsome! Zhang Linghe also looked insanely beautiful in Pursuit of Jade and Deng Kai.

Now that we are in the middle of June.

Deng Kai is definitely one of my favorites. He was so compelling in Pursuit of Jade.

I also really like Zhou Yiran in generation to generation. And Lu Yuxiao and Chen Xingxu in love between lines. Both of them individually gave really good performances that was imo, eye catching.

Or the ones you have always enjoyed watching or there was a particular role that really showed their acting chops!

When it comes to effectively portraying emotions, mainly heavy ones in a very convincing and raw manner, I think actresses like Song Zuer, Liu Haocun, Zhao Jinmai and Zhang Jingyi do this well. Also Wang Yinglu 👌. They remind me of the type of actresses who excel more in movies and more serious roles.

For romance and comedy, I think Zhao Lusi and Tian Xiwei shine more there. Wang Churan as well. I find Lu Yuxiao quite talented but I think the scripts she has been given are not letting her grow.

Dai Lu wa is so charismatic and beautiful, and she can act well! I hope she gets more lead roles that give her more success!

Like for some reason you felt at one point you were forcing yourself to watch it. It just wasn't catching your attention.
