73 with Factory Air - Replacing with new components

Hey C3 fam,

I have a 73 with factory air. The air has never worked while I have owned the car. I never bothered to look into it - I did make sure everything was hooked up but it never seemed to function at all. I realize that I would love to have functioning AC in the car so I wanted to ask if anyone has ever had to do any real troubleshooting to try to make it work, or better yet - has anyone ever purchased one of those 'direct fit' kits either from Vintage Air or Classic Auto Air and successfully put one in? I figured that since I have no idea on any of the components, it might be the better idea to 'replace everything'... but it does look to be a pretty daunting task.

Thanks!

The Governor and PEF agreeing on anything is still not a guarantee!

Many posts in the last couple weeks about contract proposals...but one thing that people need to remember is that it doesn't matter AT ALL if the Governor and PEF agree. That would simply be an agreement to put it out to a vote.

So, looking at the CSEA proposal of 4.5, 4, 3.5, 3, 3: Pef could agree to something like that - but it doesn't mean it is a done deal. The membership would ultimately have the final say. Stay the course, and be ready to vote NO if it is insulting to you. Vote YES if you truly feel this is what your efforts are worth, or you fear that it will never be a better offer.
