2000 540i-6 with 248k should i?

Hello all I am the second owner of an immaculate heavily documented and maintained 2000 540i m62tu. Just want some opinions from other e39 owners. After going through the motor and refreshing everything. Drove the vehicle about 2k miles and completely opened her up and took her to speeds the PO probably didn't do, the vehicle has stage two dinan tune and needed to be opened up, but then I started getting a deep vanos rumble/ rattle on cold start only when the vehicle has been sitting for a few days. Also has a slight diesel sound. I feel like i can ignore it for some time, but i am too ocd to just live with the noise. I am 90% certain it is vanos related and not tcgs as those were replaced 60k ago and vanos is original, however i am about to order everything needed for vanos rebuild. The question i have and keep going back and forth about is should I go ahead and replace the tcg if they only have 60k on them and the previous owner completely babied this vehicle?? Or should I do those in another 40k miles? I only drive the vehicle a few hundred miles a month. Also I will be dropping the lower oil pan to inspect and replace the faulty gasket. Would love real opinions and not interested in just hearing worst case scenarios without people hearing the sound. I know what tcg and a loose chain sound like and they're completely different from vanos rattle. Looking forward to hearing what yall think.
